Gana Art Collection: Artists 1

Gana Art Foundation and Gana Art present 𝘎𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘈𝘳𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝟣, on view at Gana Art Center from April 15 to April 29, 2026. Marking the beginning of the “Artists” series, the exhibition brings together key works from Gana Art’s collection, built over the past four decades, offering a focused look at leading figures in Korean contemporary art.

The exhibition features five artists from different generations and disciplines, Hwang Jaihyoung(1952–2026), Lee Walchong(b. 1945), Bae Bien-U(b. 1950), Oh Sufan(b. 1946), and Yoon Kwangcho(b. 1946).

Spanning painting, ceramics, and photography, their works reflect a wide range of artistic approaches and offer a compelling view of the diversity and evolution of Korean contemporary art.

가나아트와 가나문화재단은 소장품을 중심으로 한 기획전 《Gana Art Collection: Artists 1》을 2026년 4월 15일부터 4월 29일까지 가나아트센터에서 개최합니다. 향후 이어질 ‘Artists’ 시리즈의 출발점이 되는 본 전시는 지난 40여년간 축적된 가나아트의 컬렉션을 기반으로, 한국 현대미술을 대표하는 작가들의 작품세계를 한 자리에서 조망하고자 마련되었습니다.

이번 전시는 서로 다른 세대와 매체를 대표하는 다섯 작가, 황재형(1952-2026), 이왈종(b.1945), 배병우(b.1950), 오수환(b.1946), 윤광조(b.1946)를 중심으로 구성됩니다. 이들의 작업은 고유한 조형 언어를 바탕으로 시대와 매체, 주제의 차이를 가로지르며 한국 미술이 축적해온 다양한 시도와 성취를 보여줍니다.

회화, 도자, 사진 등 폭넓은 장르를 아우르는 가나아트컬렉션은 단순한 소장품의 범주를 넘어, 동시대 미술의 흐름을 기록하는 중요한 자산으로 기능하고 있습니다. 가나아트는 이러한 축적을 바탕으로 ‘Artists’ 시리즈의 방향성을 제시하는 본 전시가 한국 미술을 새롭게 체감하는 자리가 되기를 희망합니다.
